Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepares technical reports related to specific design issues
  • Uses available design tools for efficient execution of project deliverables
  • Participates in technical meetings with customer and engineering staff
  • Performs intradiscipline coordination
  • Assists in constructability reviews and performs overall system design and associated coordination
  • Familiar with professional societies relevant to discipline
  • Knows how to use and other available tools for enhancing work process within discipline
  • Understands methods of design, fabrication and operation of engineered features within discipline
  • Understands roles played by other disciplines on projects
  • Familiar with computerized 2D and 3D structural model generation and analyses
  • Ensure designs are safe, of the highest quality and the best value for the customer
  • Is responsive to meeting internal and external customer requirements
  • Knows how to produce land development packages
  • Knows how to produce site plans using Civil3D
  • Knows how to perform grading and drainage layout and design using Civil 3D
  • Knows how to produce roadway layout and design drawings
Training and Experience:
  • Recognized degree in engineering or technical field from an accredited college or university
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • 7 years’ experience
  • PE required
  • Civil 3D experience required
  • AutoCAD experience required
  • MicroStation experience a plus
Other Essential Functions:
  • Keen safety awareness
  • Able to perform job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an operating facility
  • Understand budgets and schedules and produce quality work in accordance with the budget and schedule
  • Have strong leadership skills
  • Enhance knowledge of the standard and design codes
  • Understand continuous improvement processes
  • Gain understanding of EPC work process and dependencies between functions
  • Participate in project design reviews
  • Understand constructions practices
