Job Purpose

The Construction Engineer primary responsibility is to plan and execute capital project construction activities in accordance with applicable premises, approved work processes, and standards in a safe, efficient, cost effective manner.  We are looking for an Engineer with an experience no less than 10 years in Upstream Projects.

Dimensions

• Support the development of the execution strategy including contract strategy, project organization, management framework and procedures, baseline plan and budget, etc.
• Collaborate across project organization facilitating alignment through information sharing and construction knowledge.
• Coordinate with the client Discipline Engineers and Construction to bring a coordinated approach to HSE, quality, cost, and schedule expectations in the project to meet deliverables.

Specific Accountabilities & Support:

• Support tender preparation, pre-qualification, tender, bid evaluation and clarification effort for major contracts.
• Ensure strict adherence to project HSE, quality, cost and schedule guidelines in construction environments.
• Lead assurance processes of Constructability and Construction Readiness to:
  • Provide up-front constructability input to the project design, specifications, standards and execution strategies that are aligned with the project needs and recognition of contractor’s capacities and capabilities.
  • Effectively incorporate lessons learned into constructability reviews
  • Ensure construction planning activities are prepared to the project schedule and are effectively coordinated and integrated into the total project deliverables.
• Establish Contractor management protocols for review and approval of submitted documentation to ensure HSE and Quality plans are implemented.
• Primary contact between engineering and construction to ensure consistency over the execution of the project.
• Assure that final design has provided an appropriate construction Risk Assessment vs. Economic Benefit.

• Review and interpret construction and engineering drawings, and project agreed specifications to ensure compliance, recognize errors, ambiguities, and provide corrective recommendations.
• Participate in Construction Execution Planning, including:
  • Logistics Planning
  • Materials Management
  • Transportation
  • Site selection and layout
• Provide input & review of Project Execution Plan.

• Facilitate timely resolution to critical Request for Information (RFI).

• Provide input for integrity, function, and dynamic testing to ensure mechanical completeness.
