The Role:
We are currently looking for a Cost Controller on a part-time basis (3 days per week) to join the Wagerup team at Alcoa on a 12-month fixed term contract. Additional hours/days may be required depending on reporting requirements. Your main responsibilities will include;
• Facilitate the creation of new projects and tasks in Worley system – Worley GBS and Ecosys.
• Work with Alcoa Cost Control to ensure new project lines have been created within Alcoa project controls cost system (GCMS).
• Raise purchase requestions in Alcoa system – iProc (iProcurement) for approved projects and work requests inline with project engineering estimates.
• Manage approved purchase orders and maintain master PO register.
• Ensure control accounts, task budget, schedule and personnel are correctly setup in Worley GBS & EcoSys.
• Advise the project team members of the Worley WBS to allow correct billing and time-sheeting.
• Monitor and review Project Budget (PO value) and track against actual costs to date and estimate at completion.
• Report and flag to project team leaders (PTL’s) any potential over-runs or issues.
• Manage and update Worley Ecosys cost control system – import weekly actuals and update project progress.
• Supply/run weekly EcoSys costs reports to PTL’s that provide project stats – actual Worley hours spent and cost against budget as well as progress and productivity.
• Supply/run weekly cost & man-hour reports from Alcoa GCMS system (TOPS, Period Expenditure Reports).
• Assist with the Alcoa project forecasting process (month/quarter/year).
• Work with PTL’s to manage overall Wagerup Capital Expenditure to within 10% of the forecast.
• Provide weekly updates of how the actuals are tracking against baseline forecast.
• Assist with loading forecast in Alcoa Cost Control system (GCMS).
• Compare the forecast against previous/current burn rates, considering future resource availability, and competing priorities.
• Review forecast with PTL and challenge accordingly (review only).
• Publish variation summary for comments and manage post forecast review process.
• Support Alcoa monthly accrual process.
• Support/provide Worley and Alcoa billing reports (invoices) to PTL’s for forecasting.
• Support production of Worley monthly contract reports.
• Support monthly internal Worley project review process.
• Manage all time keeping changes where necessary
• Close out complete job’s in Worley GBS Oracle and Ecosys.
• Support/change spares from capital to expense
• Support/control the submission of project completion documents i.e. Project Acceptance Certificate (PAC) and Project Closure Notice (PCN).
About You
• Financial control experience, any associated accreditations in the field.
• MS Office (Excel), Oracle financial systems, experience with engineering cost control systems (e.g. EcoSys).
• Project systems Start-up/Setup experience
• Understanding of Alcoa capitalisation process
• Excellent communication and written skills
