HSE Officer (Underground and Shafts)

Main Purpose of Job:

  • To provide HSE expertise and guidance to the nominated project.

Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

  • Provide HSE leadership & Governance in the Project Environment.
  • Engage, influence and motivate project personnel, customer and contractors as required to ensure alignment, commitment and effective implementation of the HSE Management Plan.
  • Manage HSE Compliance and Risk in Project Management.
  • Facilitate Project HSE Risk Assessments and ensure projects are covered by robust and comprehensive HSE Management Plans.
  • Provide Customer Support and Manage Relationships.
  • Implement OneWay systems, Standards and Processes.
  • Perform HSE Related Administration.
  • Assist the business to comply with the relevant Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation and where applicable customer HSE requirements.

Essential Skills/Experience:

Skills:

  • Excellent customer focus and able to consistently meet Worley and its clients’ needs.
  • Effectively manages change to work tasks and the work environment and assists others with adapting to change.     

Experience:

  •  
  • At least 5 years to include HSE related experience preferably in the resources and construction sector, of which at least two (2) years were working for a contractor company.
  • Sound experience in the relevant discipline in the same or similar industry, including direct experience in the operation, construction or maintenance of hydrocarbons, industrial infrastructure & power industries. Site and construction experience is preferred.
  • Sound Understanding of relevant industry Health and Safety legislation, applicable Codes of Practice and ISO standards.         

A Diploma and Health Safety / Environmental Management; Certificate IV Occupational Health and Safety, or higher, or current studies. Preferred: A recognized degree or post graduate qualifications in OHS, Environmental or relevant related discipline. Additional post graduate qualifications, accreditation or training including First aid, Lead auditor in AS4801 & ISO14001.
