The primary role of the Project Controller Reporting is to support and coordinate the reporting requirements on the project. This position will assist in maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that reporting and planning is consistent and in compliance with establish financial processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITY
•Reviews and communicates the weekly reporting
•Meets all deadlines for reporting
•Ensures that management results, under responsibility, are maintained in compliance with company policies and are reconciled and consistent with statutory reporting and accounting principles
•Coordinates with the team to ensure that the reporting system continues to operate as required.
•Assist the Project Services Manager in liaising with the customer to clarify reporting related issues
•Ensure effective coordination and cooperation between other team members
•Promote the identification of potential areas of concern or improvement to maximise reporting effectiveness on projects and work practices.
•Work closely with the cost control team
•Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members and other personnel.
•Maintain a high level of communication / interface with other cost and project control personnel on the project team
•Provide ad-hoc support / advice to Project Services Manager and Project Director when required.
•Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system
•Safety – Responsible for personal safety and safe working practices
•Understand all relevant documentation pertaining to the construction phase of the project including scope of services, conditions of contract, project execution plan, project schedule etc.
•Work within standard project planning procedures; ensure that these procedures comply with contractual reporting requirements and, if not, modifying accordingly.
•Generally instilling planning and reporting awareness in the project
•Obtain from operating groups, the latest information pertinent to planning and reporting and ensuring its accuracy and completeness.
•Identify and analyse deviations and trends against the budgets; investigate such deviations with the relevant group and advise the Project Services Manager/Construction Director/Project Director of issues requiring immediate corrective action.
•Prepare and record changes to scope and changes to forecast respectively.
•Ensure integrity of the data being processed
•Ensure effective coordination and cooperation between other team members, particularly in regard to reporting and planning
•Review and understand all relevant documentation pertaining to the project including scope of services, project schedules and project specifications
•Work in accordance with project planning/scheduling procedures
•Liaise with project controls team at the working level as directed
•Assist the project controls team in identifying and monitoring critical paths within the schedule
•Support project change/trend management as and when required
•Produce weekly management reports as and when required
•Ensure schedules are progressed objectively according to project procedures
•Assist and support planning project team in maintaining critical path diagrams to ensure project target dates are met
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
•Proven ability to communicate effectively with others (verbally, in written communications and in presentations/meetings)
•Demonstrate a level of skill in planning engineering using computer-based planning and scheduling techniques
•Demonstrate project planning skills
•Demonstrate Primavera Project Planning software user knowledge
•Well-developed technical and practical skills and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers
•Proficient with aspects of financial accounting software and financial reporting tools
•Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement analysis including key trends analysis, project reporting techniques, and financial controls
•A minimum of 10 years’ experience in project planning and reporting
•Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, finance, accounting, economics or relevant discipline; further relevant qualifications and/or equivalent experience
•Experience in a project controls position on Oil & Gas / Petrochemical projects, ideally within the Middle East
•Competent in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and a sound knowledge in relevant software.
