What we offer you:

Advisian is seeking a senior level Consultant to work within our Downstream practice. The candidate(s) will be a member of the team providing strategic consulting services to the refining, chemicals and financial sectors. The role will initially be focussing predominantly on Oil Refining clients. 

The experienced candidate will demonstrate extensive knowledge of more than one of the following activities;

  • Site Configuration,
  • Unit process technology and/or Operations,
  • Planning,
  • Capital investment

The role provides opportunities to tailor bespoke services to suit a diverse set of clients, working to deliver services, participating in business development and to be a key member of the practice.

 

 

Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead configuration studies for major greenfield / brownfield refinery / petrochemical investments;
  • Lead consulting services to clients during all phases of an engagement, including benchmarking, gap analysis, solution identification, justification, prioritisation, ranking, implementation and close out;
  • Support marketing and business development activities for consulting services;
  • Potentially act as and be recognised as a ‘Subject Matter Expert’ for Refining or Chemicals technologies across Advisian and the wider Worley;
  • Support the growth of the business.

 

Experience and Qualifications:

The candidate must demonstrate competency and experience in the following:

  • Able to work within a ‘sell-do’ model;
  • Study Management;
  • Strong self-starter and motivated to succeed;
  • Practical consulting experience – including scoping, selling and delivery;
  • Experience of Refining and/or Chemicals technologies;
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to produce concise reports and presentations appropriate for all levels;
  • Confidence to work at all levels of a client organisation;
  • Desire to expand role and be adaptable to client’s needs;
  • Leads the preparation of proposals, execution plans and budgets;
  • Identify new opportunities and leads;
  • Supports a continuous improvement culture and identifies gaps, develops work processes, tools and methodologies to drive productivity and growth.

The candidate should ideally also be able to demonstrate experience in one or more of the following services areas:

  • Refining strategies, practices and methodologies,
  • Refinery planning and scheduling,
  • Refinery-petrochemical integration,
  • Industry competitiveness/awareness,
  • Process understanding and modelling,
  • Feasibility and configuration studies,
  • Crude analysis and product qualities including blending,
  • Refinery operations,
  • Technology vendors/licensors,
  • Financial analysis,
  • Technical due diligence.

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Engineering degree, Chartered Engineer status,
  • Based in Central London,
  • Direct sales and business development experience,
  • English language skills and preferably a second language,
  • Willing to travel on frequent short-duration international business trips.
