Role Outline/ Responsibilities

Advisian is the independent consulting business line of Worley with more than 3,000 people in 25 countries. We provide solutions for clients in the Hydrocarbons, Minerals & Metals, Chemicals, and Infrastructure industries.

Advisian’s Decommissioning and Restoration Service Line is comprised of highly qualified and experienced individuals who deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions in Liability Management and Remediation, Decommissioning and Closure, and Industrial Waste Management.

This vacancy is for a Senior Environmental Risk Assessor with 6+ years’ experience in Human Health and Controlled Waters risk assessment.  The position will be based in our London (Brentford), Bristol or Leeds Offices to support delivery of contaminated land risk assessment and water resources projects across the UK.  The successful applicant will work with our clients bringing managerial, technical and industry know-how to the successful delivery of projects. This is a full time, permanent position.

Core Responsibilities
Core responsibilities will include the following:

·         Human health and hydrogeological conceptualisation and assessment;

·         Detailed quantitative risk assessment and modelling;

·         Project management of contaminated land risk assessment and water resources projects;

·         Business development and winning work including prospect identification and proposal generation.

·         Mentor and train junior staff;

·         Liaise with and support key clients;

·         Ensure high technical quality across the project team; and

·         Embrace the HSSE culture of a project, both client-facing and internally.

 

Qualifications & Key Requirements

Qualifications

·         Postgraduate qualification in hydrogeology, geology, chemistry environmental science or other relevant courses.

·         Chartered status.

 

Skills and Essential Experience Required
The following skills and experience will be required:

·         Significant experience in the assessment of contaminated land.

·         Significant experience in all aspects of human health contaminated land risk assessment, including risk assessments on asbestos, ground gas, soil vapours and soil contaminants.

·         Groundwater quantitative risk assessment and groundwater modelling experience.

·         Strong capability in the pragmatic presentation, analysis and interpretation of data.

·         Ability to build effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and contractors.

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills.

·         Ability to write clear, concise reports and think logically and clearly.

·         Strong organisational and project management skills

·         Experience of working with hydrocarbons, chemicals, infrastructure, mining and resources clients.
