The Role

We are currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our dynamic team of high achievers onsite at the Alcoa Aluminium Smelter in the scenic coastal town of Portland, also known as the unofficial end of The Great Ocean Road. As the Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of small and medium sized brownfield projects as well as managing the relationship between Alcoa and Worley.

Additional responsibilities include;

  • Responsible for the development and execution of all brownfield engineering projects
  • Be the custodian of the delivery of safe, cost-effective and high-quality brownfield project services and solutions to the operation;
  • Maintain project performance and customer satisfaction;
  • Proactively resolve performance, scope and schedule issues with the Client as they arise;
  • Ensure that the portfolio of projects is compliant with the Project Delivery Plan and Project Execution Plan.

About You

As this is a hands-on role and will require overseeing multiple projects at any given time, we are looking for a Project Engineer with strong organisational and interpersonal skills.

Further competencies we are looking for include;

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree (or Institution of Engineers Australia approved equivalent);
  • Demonstrated Project Engineering experience working in a similar heavy industry;
  • People and client management experience highly desirable;
  • Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of client value drivers;
  • A global company commitment to all things related to health, safety and the environment
