Primary Objectives / Responsibilities
To provide Quantity Surveying services to Worley that includes the review and verification of contractor progress measurement systems and the subsequent validation of contractor claimed progress Worley WPMP standards and client requirements
Specific Accountabilities
- Support Construction engineers in developing fit for purpose Workpacks.
- Reviews contractor progress measuring system and verifies data provided by contractor to support the contractors progress measuring system/data.
- Manage project subcontract packages, including compensation events, measurements and valuations.
- Checks, verifies and maintains records of built/ site measurements and quantifications against contractor claim for progress.
- Checks, verifies and maintains records of built/ site measurements and quantifications against Shell service providers claim for progress.
- Review and approve contractor applications for payment in the format and time required under the Contract.
- Agree the application and produce and reconcile differences between application and certified payment.
- Maintains accurate records to help resolve contractual conflicts and disputed claims with subcontractors.
- Inform the appropriate management of project contractual issues and points of dispute and resolution.
- Contributes to the project personnel understand the application issues of the contractual conditions.
- Identifies and analyses the commercial risk of a project.
- Writes detailed progress reports
- Interfaces with all teams to meet overall program deliverables
- Knowledge and awareness of Construction linked planning network and be able to run forward / backward passes, knows what effects constraints have on schedule calculations, analyse / demonstrate the critical path method discuss and coordinate with construction planner.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Minimum 8 years multi-disciplinary experience in Quantity Surveying roles Oil & Gas Industry.
- Ability to interpret project controls documentation and prepare planning documents in accordance with Worley and industry standard practices.
- Experience in Project Planning and Project Control.
- Experience working in a multi-cultural / ethnic arena.
- Ideally a member of AACE
Required Competencies
- Good knowledge of computer-based cost and planning tools, adept in the use of Excel, Access, Microsoft Office, MS Project or equivalent packages.
- Application, use and understanding of Worley systems – Oracle (Time writing), Primavera (Schedules), Ecosys (Project Control).
- Understanding and ability to apply generally accepted planning and project control practices to budget hours resource loaded schedule creation by WBS.
- Knowledge of engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, systems completion, maintenance and shut-down planning processes, planning tools and project management and control techniques
- Proactive in determining mitigations and solutions to project over-runs and best utilisation of project resources
- Application and understanding of Baselines and rebase lining.
- Self- motivated and able to work without supervision.
