WorleyCord Ltd. Is seeking a Transport & Logistics Coordinator to work with our project team in our Edmonton Office on projects based in Alberta and British Columbia. 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Liaise with Government, Local and Regulatory Authorities to ensure all logistics matters are conducted in compliance with local regulations.
  • Use your understanding of Alberta and British Columbia transportation rules about heavy haul and oversize loads to organize the logistics of moving materials to the project sites.
  • Attend shipping load-out of specialized or delicate equipment to ensure safe loading, transit and delivery of materials.
  • Management of appointed freight forwarders/custom agents and other service providers to logistics.
  • Ensure any duty/import concessions are obtained.
  • Develop logistics strategies which result in the best “value for money” for the project and the client.
  • Oversee project logistics to ensure logistics budgets and targets are achieved. Report on delivery progress.
  • Ensure project materials are delivered in line with the project schedule.
  • Perform, as required, visits to construction/delivery sites to ensure transit and receival logistics functions are being carried out in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure that project logistics processes as part of the Procurement and Contracts procedures and processes are followed including maintaining the necessary files.
  • Representing Transportation and Logistics at client and Project Management meetings.
  • Provide advice to the project on Transportation and Logistics matters.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a logistics/transportation coordination role.
  • Must have a solid understanding of road permitting and road bans, road licensing, weight and height restrictions, and related rules around transport of heavy haul and oversize loads across Alberta and British Columbia.
  • Must have a solid understanding of domestic and international freight.
  • Must have a solid understanding of logistics multi-functionalities in EPC projects.
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation as there is no public transit to the Edmonton Office
  • Must be able to travel to work sites across Alberta and British Columbia as required.
