Contract Operator - Maintenance Level 4 – Prudhoe Bay, Alaska
Perform daily operations and maintenance of oil wells, manifold buildings, related equipment and facilities pertaining to oil production. Perform maintenance work on oil field related equipment and operate facilities pertaining to oil production. There is sufficient work for this to be a regular long-term position given good performance however there is no commitment for duration of work.

- Perform rigging, bolt-up craft work including all phases of advanced maintenance work related to Drill-sites and oil wells
- Adhere to material requirements and specifications; have the knowledge to identify materials related to piping, structural and architectural designs
- Must have knowledge to examine work and materials for compliance with job and safety specifications
- Perform safety and productivity observations including shop, field, and vehicle inspections; ensuring that all incidents are promptly reported
- Attend various components of technical, developmental and safety training
- Promote safe work practices and implement company and client safety policies, including proper hazard recognition and mitigation
- Demonstrate support for the company's and client environmental management system
- Continually seek and implement work process improvements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of facility or drill site production operations
- Have working knowledge and understanding of insulation materials, piping supports, pipeline and facility piping
- Have a working knowledge of installation of piping spools and miscellaneous mechanical components to include carbon and Stainless-steel components
- Have the knowledge and skill to identify material needs related to piping, structural and architectural designs
- Be competent with mechanical skills, including ability to use proper tools and equipment applicable to petrochemical
- operation
- Have a working knowledge to replace ball, gate, plug and globe valves as required
- Must have a general knowledge of blue prints, P&ID’s and capable of interpretation
- Have knowledge in fabrication, assembly, handling, installation, dismantling, adjustment, alteration and repair of all oil field process facilities and equipment
- Knowledge of technical and safety policies, procedures and standards.
- Ability to work as part of a team with client, fellow workers and alternate.
- Ability to effectively communicate with fellow workers, alternate and client effectively.
- Advanced knowledge of all of the following: mechanical piping, structural and scaffold disciplines including bolt up, rigging, pipefitting/installation
- Advanced ability to interpret mechanical drawings & P&ID
- Basic hand/power tool knowledge
- Ability to interpret work instructions
- OSHA Competent Scaffold Builder
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Ability to operate vehicles (i.e. box van, flatbed)
- Advanced knowledge of drill site maintenance

- Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, reach through low and high ranges and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe
- performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear
- Lift 50 lbs from floor to waist x 2 with a 12 second interval,
- Lift 20 lbs from floor to shoulder x 2 with a 12 second interval,
- Lift 20 lbs to from floor to crown level x 2 with a 12 second interval,
- Carry: Carry 50 lbs with two hands for a distance of 50 ft x 2 for a total of 100 ft (Allow a 60 second rest break between carry tests.).
- Stair Climb: Climb up and down 15 steps x 20 for a total of 300 steps; Self-paced (Allow a 60 second break after walking up and down each 60 steps),
- Stair Climb and Carry: While carrying 40 lbs in one hand and holding onto a railing with the other hand for safety, climb up and down 15 steps x 5 for a total of 75 steps. Self-paced, but continuous. (Allow a 60 second rest break after walking up and down each set of 15 steps)
- Slanted Ladder: Climb up and down 10 rungs x 3 for a total of 30 rungs. (Self-paced, continuous)
- Repetitive Kneel Test: Perform from standing, kneel on one knee, alternate from left to right knee, x 10 each knee,
- Repetitive Stoop Test: Perform from standing position, bend forward at waist as far as possible without bending the knees with hands reaching toward the floor x 5, self-paced, but continuous,
- Repetitive Squat Test: Perform a functional squat and stand x 5,
- Twist and Flex Test: Perform from standing alternate toe touches x 10 to each side to assess ability to twist and flex the trunk repetitively.
Required Qualifications
- One to two (1-2) years, experience in operations of the petrochemical industry
- One (1) year experience using Process Safety Management (PSM) in the petrochemical industry
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid driver's license and the ability to be covered by Worley’s auto insurer
Preferred Qualifications
- Process Safety Management (PSM) certification for drill site / facility operations
- Three to five (3-5) years, experience on the North Slope
- Three to five (3-5) years, experience using Process Safety Management (PSM)
- Process Technology Degree
