About the role

  • Business Support

Provides support to Lead Pipeline Engineer in persuading activities and proposals.

  • Operation Management

Carry out the Role of Technical Authority (TA3) for the discipline.

  • Project Execution

To undertake all work within the estimated man hour budget and within schedule.

  • HSE Leadership

To undertake engineering design work in with true regard to Safety both in design detail and engineering design execution.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out assigned discipline engineering activities within the team. Supervise and assist engineers and designers as required with their tasks.
  • Manage assigned work to meet project needs. Proactively work with other team members to ensure Project goals are met.
  • Ensure technical integrity of work, consistency of work quality and that all work is carried out in accordance with applicable codes and standards, procedures and the basis of design.
  • Ensure all interfaces (inter-discipline, client, implementation, fabrication, vendor, etc) are identified and managed in the execution of all projects.
  • Has sound appreciation of :-

-    Environmental aspects (ISO14001) of oil and gas design.

-    Safety aspects of design in relation to the project cycle; e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, HAZAN, IPF classification methodology and implementation, reliability studies, Fire & Gas mapping and risk analysis techniques.

-    Quality Assurance and Control requirements of the design process.

  • Management, technical execution and completion of engineering assigned tasks in a specific process discipline area.
  • Assisting the project engineers in the co-ordination and preparation of input into the contract documents for each discipline area, including design criteria, scope of work, procedures and design approach.
  • Liaison and co-ordination with other engineers and discipline groups on the contract to effect timely production of deliverables.
  • Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Oil and Gas Business Unit.
  • Safety – Responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the Oil and Gas Business Unit. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.

About You

  • The incumbent shall have a minimum number of 10 years (+) experience.
  • Practical experience in pipeline engineering design and have a comprehensive knowledge of:

-    Design techniques and methodologies in Pipeline Engineering including finite element analyses and associated computer software such as OFFPIPE, CEASAR II and AUTOPIPE.

-    Experience with pipeline routing and preparation of alignment and approach drawings, installation and fabrication detail drawings.

-    Installation of onshore, near-shore and offshore pipelines and risers.

-    Pipeline Pre-Commissioning

-    Pipeline Integrity Management, Inspection, maintenance and Operation

-    Detail cost estimation and budget.

-    Relevant International Standards and Codes of Practice normally used in Oil and Gas industries including, but not limited to API, ASME, BS, ISO, DNV.
