- Offshore geotechnical site investigations (including drilling and coring) on various sampling platforms;
- Assist in geotechnical analysis and design assignments under the supervision of Professional Engineers;
- Prepare and coordinate the implementation of laboratory testing programs including advanced testing such as cyclic simple shear and resonant column testing;
- Report preparation and proposal writing;
- Tender package preparation for both work scope and specifications;
- Ability to work within a team of Geoscience professionals to produce integrated geoscience products; and
- Work as part of an integrated delivery team within our business, comprising of other engineering disciplines, professional environmental scientists, project delivery and project support staff on existing and new Advisian/Worley projects.
- Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer through NCEES.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited institution plus appropriate continuing education in civil/geotechnical engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in offshore geotechnical engineering.
- Provide geotechnical engineering knowledge on projects and pursuits including suction pile design, mud mat design, soil-pipeline interaction, driven piles.
- Proficiency with common software (e.g. Microsoft Office suite, APile, LPile, PLAXIS or Abaqus).
- Ability to present technical information in a concise and professional report.
- A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated history of effective client engagement and relationships.
- Working knowledge of industry standard business support systems, i.e. project planning packages, cost management systems, ISO9001 quality management systems is considered an asset.
- Able to complete BOSIET training and offshore physical examination.
- Must be able to travel to foreign countries and complete offshore field assignments lasting up to 30 days.
