Our Pipe Welders:
- Performs welding of metal components for fabrication or repair of structures according to layout, blueprints or work orders using a variety of arc and gas welding equipment and processes;
- Lays out, fits, welds, and fabricates according to blueprints, specifications, and knowledge of welding and metallurgy;
- Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure into position for welding;
- Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions;
- Examines welds for bead size and other specifications;
- Cleans or degreases weld joints or work pieces;
- Sets up equipment and welds parts using arc, gas-shielded arc, or gas welding equipment
- Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using cutting torch and hand tools;
- Maintains tools and equipment and performs various cleanup and housekeeping activities.
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Basic knowledge of the AWS, ANSI and ASME codes;
- Knowledge of stick electrode, wire-feed and TIG processes welding machines and associated operating procedures;
- Ability to weld in all positions (uphill, horizontal, overhead, 45 degree angle);
- Ability to properly use and care for the tools and equipment and welding electrodes commonly used on an industrial projects
- Three (3) years� experience in pipe welding and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Required to pass pipe weld tests upon offer. Tests include 6G- TIG/Stick and TIG Dual Shield; Need to be qualified in Carbon Steel
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Petrochemical, oilfield or arctic experience preferred
