Senior Regulatory and Permitting Specialist
- Preparing, reviewing and managing federal/provincial/municipal environmental assessments, permits, licenses and approvals
- Use and develop databases and schedules to track permit timelines and actions and to manage permit conditions and commitments for compliance tracking and reporting
- Preparation and/or review of technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets
- Advising internal senior consultants and principals on environmental assessment and permitting issues
- Provide advice and strategies to clients for obtaining federal/provincial/municipal environmental assessments, permits, licenses and approvals
- Communicate effectively and work with regulators and other stakeholders with or on behalf of client’s to further project delivery and success
- Project management, including the development and maintenance of project scopes, schedules and budgets, delivering to the proposed and approved GM for the project, and coordination of junior staff
- Client management, including communication through verbal and written correspondence which may include presentation
- Business development – proposal preparation, attend client meetings, and deliver engaging presentations
- Work with senior consultants and principals in the practice to identify opportunities and prepare winning proposals
- Quality assurance – responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Environment & Society Practice
- Responsible for personal safety and the safe working practices and understand and follow Worley occupational health and safety procedures
- Travel as required for various field programs and meetings
The successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications and experience:
- Bachelors or master’s degree in science, environmental resource management, environmental law, environmental engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience in both provincial and federal regulatory frameworks. A key role of the position will be to communicate and collaborate with our engineering and environmental teams and contribute to the development of junior staff
- Possess a proven track record and experience in all stages of the regulatory permitting processes for resource projects in Canada (8+ years), preferably in AB and BC and federal agencies including IA Agency, CER, Transport Canada, ECCC, and DFO experience. Proven ability to interpret and implement the provincial and federal environmental assessments, permits, licenses and approvals.

- Professional experience in industries such as pipelines, upstream/downstream oil and gas facilities, mining, infrastructure, and renewable energies within AB and BC, would be an asset
- Develop and use databases, tracking systems and processes
- Strong interpersonal, management and leadership skills

- Willingness to work within a team
- Supervisory, project management and client management experience an asset
- Self-starter, flexible team player, willing and able to work on a wide variety of tasks and to coordinate staff
The Senior Regulatory and Permitting Specialist may be a part or full-time position located in Vancouver, BC within the Americas Operations. The position reports to the Americas Lead for Regulatory Approvals, Permits, and Compliance.
