Mechanical Quality Control Inspector - Anchorage Fab Shop
This position performs quality control functions to assure compliance with project and Owner requirements under general supervision. Receives instruction on specific assignment objectives and work is reviewed by general supervision.
Essential Job Functions:

Will perform field and/or Fab Shop inspections

Maintain compliance with established project, Corporate and customer quality assurance and control requirements

Review engineering drawings and track quality progress based on scope of work document

Updates Quality Control files

Will perform field and/or Fab Shop inspections

Assist in the processing of installation procedures

Notifies supervisors of any discrepancies found between work completed and material installed and Owner quality requirements

Performing special process and field installation inspections and surveillance of equipment and materials

Attend training sessions, seminars, and appropriate educational classes as required by department

Possess current knowledge of Engineering, Business Administration, quality control and organizational practices

- Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, reach through low and
- high ranges and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe
- performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear
- Lift 50 lbs from floor to waist x 2 with a 12 second interval,
- Lift 20 lbs from floor to shoulder x 2 with a 12 second interval,
- Lift 20 lbs to from floor to crown level x 2 with a 12 second interval,
- Carry: Carry 50 lbs with two hands for a distance of 50 ft x 2 for a total of 100 ft (Allow a 60 second rest break between carry tests.).
- Stair Climb: Climb up and down 15 steps x 20 for a total of 300 steps; Self-paced (Allow a 60 second break after walking up and down each 60 steps),
- Stair Climb and Carry: While carrying 40 lbs in one hand and holding onto a railing with the other hand for safety, climb up and down 15 steps x 5 for a total of 75 steps. Self-paced, but continuous. (Allow a 60 second rest break after walking up and down each set of 15 steps)
- Slanted Ladder: Climb up and down 10 rungs x 3 for a total of 30 rungs. (Self-paced, continuous)
- Repetitive Kneel Test: Perform from standing, kneel on one knee, alternate from left to right knee, x 10 each knee,
- Repetitive Stoop Test: Perform from standing position, bend forward at waist as far as possible without bending the knees with hands reaching toward the floor x 5, self-paced, but continuous,
- Repetitive Squat Test: Perform a functional squat and stand x 5,
- Twist and Flex Test: Perform from standing alternate toe touches x 10 to each side to assess ability to twist and flex the trunk repetitively
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certificate per AWS QC1
- Minimum of four (4) years of related mechanical field experience
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to be covered by Worley’s auto insurer
Preferred Qualifications
- NACE certificate preferred
- BA/BS college or university degree in Engineering
